Surprising Uses from the Everyday Product

Surprising Uses from the Everyday Product

Hey Y'all! So, I've compiled a list of some fun products that you probably already have on hand.  My goal in this post is to show you how you can utilize the ingredients you already have in your pantry/drawer in more ways than one!  In this economy, and with prices skyrocketing, it's nice to save money and to use products in multi-faceted ways. Baby Oil What can I say? This stuff is awesome. Not only does the smell remind me of a newborn baby, but its uses go above and beyond infantile use. I mix it with lotion to create a lasting moisturizer for the entire body. I also use it while I lay … [Read more...]

Our One Year Adventure — Part One

Our One Year Adventure — Part One

I truly cannot believe it has been a year since I had the privilege of marrying my best friend.  It’s truly unfathomable.  I remember feeling as though the wedding day would never come…that I was in a dream state…and real life would kick in.  But it did come, and it came faster than I could imagine.  All the planning, the dreaming, the wedding books, the color schemes came to a final culmination. No one really prepares you for the feeling that comes after the wedding is over; the whoosh you feel in your belly like someone has socked you, or the bittersweet emotions that fill … [Read more...]

Are Name Brands a Racket?

Are Name Brands a Racket?

There are some items I refuse to purchase in the generic form. It isn’t because I am a snob or because I have brand loyalty, no, it is simply because they do not work. Often, however, items with labels on them are just that. They are packaged and marketed prettier in order to catch the consumer’s eye. People are drawn to them because they recognize the name and automatically assume the product is of higher quality. Not always the case! I have no qualms about seeking out the generic, or lower priced brand, on medicine, facial moisturizer, body wash, peanut butter (if you don’t go all … [Read more...]

Want to Know Your Future?

Want to Know Your Future?

I have been seeing the topic a lot lately, through signs posted, observing television shows, and watching ladies trying to get business down in Seaport Village.  I even ran into a large section at Barnes and Noble right across from Christian historical books.  The topic I am referring to is astrologers, spiritism, mediums, the occult, and psychics.   I rarely saw it in the south, but here it seems to be pretty prevalent.    I wanted to address it because it seems to be a topic that you do not hear discussed in Christian circles. Dissecting Divination It IS interesting, isn’t it? … [Read more...]

Guilt Free Chocolate Chip Cookies

Hey Y’all! I haven’t posted in a while!  I should feel ashamed…I definitely broke my word.  But I have a great excuse!  My parents came into town and I was running around like a chicken with its head cut off the week prior.  Don’t you all hate how one minute you are anticipating something exciting and then the next that something has come and gone?  It’s such a downer.  I think that is what God intended…if we were ever fully satisfied in this life by the temporal we wouldn’t need Him and we also wouldn’t yearn for our true home He is preparing for us, … [Read more...]

Do You Need Rest?

Do You Need Rest?

Top of the Morning to Ya! Hope you are all doing well and that your day has thus far been productive and joyful.  I acknowledge that I woke up rather late….I am taking advantage of not having any little people around quite yet.  Therefore, I guiltily wake up a bit later and start my day much slower than many of you. I just finished my devotional through a program called Logos.  I’m testing it out and so far I love it!  It’s so cool to see the commentaries at your fingertips and the Bible right there!  I can even know the Greek/Hebrew if I so choose.  I included a couple … [Read more...]

Learn the Art of Couponing

It’s never too early to teach kids the value of money. In fact, you’re doing them a lot of good by teaching them how to spend wisely at an early age. You wouldn’t want your child to grow up thinking that money grows on trees. It’s not going to help him when he gets older. Where children learn proper finance management Children need to learn how to be money savvy from home. This is where they ultimately learn money management skills—both good and bad. Although financial responsibility is tackled in some classes in high school, most kids learn it at home. In fact, according to … [Read more...]

Jet Setting

Jet Setting

Hey Y’all! It’s been quite some time since I have posted an article on here.  I hope you are doing well.  I, myself, have been recovering from bronchitis.   No fun at all!  The plus is that the codeine the doctor prescribed me has been knocking me off my feet!  I am very much a lightweight and taking a couple teaspoons keeps me conked out for 10+ hours. Anyway, I think I am finally returning to myself.  Didn’t need the meds last night and I slept like a baby.  Honestly, I didn’t want to wake up!  But this gorgeous weather was beckoning me.  It’s so pretty here.  The … [Read more...]

Nothin’ to Wine About

Nothin’ to Wine About

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted!  Sorry about that guys.  We had Thanksgiving and then before that Jon and I went on a romantic getaway to a villa in wine country.  It was incredible!  You guys should go if you’ve never been. I thought I’d write a post about how fantastic it was and show you some pictures.  Jon completely surprised me and I had no idea where we were going.  He had me thinking for months that we were going to Arizona.  WRONG!  We ended up staying in Temecula at South Coast Spa and Winery. The room was incredible.  We got a super private villa.  It had … [Read more...]
